Bakesale at Nygård- 14.11.2018
-While working as a volunteer in Nygård bo og behandligssenter, I noticed that there was a poster on the wardrobe door about a Christmas bake sale. It stood that if people wanted to sell anything then they could contact them and arrange tables to sell their stuff on. I immediately took a picture and when the next time we had a fundraising meeting I brought this up. Me and Michelle, the teacher, called them and asked if we could get tables and got that arranged. Then the whole class participated in baking and selling. We made a plan for the shifts and I went with the earlies group around 11 to set up the tables and start selling. Since I worked there, it was a given to me that one had to be propper and doublethink your acts and speech when talking to the elderly as they have dementia. Therefore, even though it was a given, I reminded my classmates that they will have to be careful and mindful about their actions and speech and be understanding of their situation. I letter came back after school and helped to sell until the end of the sale which was around 19.
Making the chocolate chip cookies and the "Brune pinner" was very fun and time-consuming as I had to make a big amount of them. I ended up staying well over midnight to finish all of them. It was one of the best selling bakes and they sold out pretty quick which made me very happy. The bake sale went very slow and not that many as we wanted to buy our bakes but we did profile a good deal at the end.
Working as a group, there was some miscommunications that happened and started a mess in the group. It was regarding the prices and also the way the group was. But we informed Michelle and with her, we came to the conclusion that this was a big misunderstanding and everybody complimented each other on their works and moved on from that episode. This gave me challenges in all the aspects of cas were it challenged my creativity with making the food, activity with selling and running around arranging and service where we did this for the class to get money for our Dublin trip.

Small bakesales at school after Nygård
-After the big bake sale, we had a lot of leftovers and therefore we again made a plan on shifts on who was going to sell at school. I joined most of them where we either stood by the IB common area or in front of the teacher's staffroom, which was a smart idea. And like that, we sold out what we baked and those who participated, nearly the whole class, got their share of the money.
